  • Senior Patrol Leader elections were held. Cole V. is the new SPL, but good campaigns by Frank L., Phillip M., Nate M., Josh M, and Sam L were run, too.
  • A 4 hour CPR class is coming up Saturday. Contact Mr. Zima for details
  • Instruction this week was on the AMTRAC railway system
  • News articles for the Thunderbird Times are due to Mr. Cox by Saturday. Email to mc at-sign coxaviation.net
  • New Scouts and family camp will be held on March 10-11. All Scouts are invited.
  • Court of Honor is coming up on March 12. The fees for the dinner before the Court are per person are $3, if paid by next week. Dinner is, of course, optional. Court of Honor ceremony starts at 7PM, and 3 Eagle Scouts will be honored.
  • Patrol Leader elections will be held next Monday.

Troop 285 News

  • On April 2nd, Mr. Mayhew will be starting Swimming merit badge. On March 18th, there will be practice and testing for Basic Skills swimming requirements. If you want to take Swimming Merit Badge, you need to have the First Class Swimmer qualification.
  • Three visiting Cub Scouts were at Monday's meeting: Kyle, Steven and Nathan. Thanks for visiting, guys!
  • Frank L. earned Life, Austin B. earned Second Class, and Turner A. earned First Class.
  • Sam Bonin became the 191st Eagle Scout in Troop 285! Way to go, Sam.
  • There will be a CPR training class on March 3rd. First Aid merit badge students get first shot at the class.
  • Next Monday (Feb. 26) will be the last night for advancement for the upcoming Court of Honor.
  • Sam L. is holding his Eagle project next Sunday, a blood drive at Sombra Del Monte Christian Church from 9 AM to 2 PM.
  • An instruction was provided by Phillip Z. on backpacking - packing and selecting equipment.
